SLO County: The group “Us Too of the Central Coast” is a local volunteer organization doing its part to help local families in need get their children ready for going back-to-school. Families are finding it more difficult to buy school supplies, so the San Luis Coastal Unified School District has provided school supply list to the organization. Using that list, Us Too is collecting back pack school supply packs with the help of private businesses-such as Starbuck’s and Office Max, local community groups, Church groups, and individuals. Items include backpacks, binders, zippered tool pouches, dividers, paper, pens, pencils, color pencils and calculators. The backpacks and supplies are received through donations or purchased. The backpacks are packed and prepared by volunteers and the local community. For more information and ways you can help, or to donate supplies: Jeannie Bruenning info@ustoocc.org.
